Train Rides
Train Rides with the Number 7 to McLean Mill (and back to town)
I have been fortunate enough to take several train rides aboard the Number 7 to and fro McLean Mill and it was a beautiful ride. My first trip in 2010 included one of that summer's biggest tourist attractions - a train robbery by the Beaufort Gang. The Beaufort Gang was made up of a group of local volunteers, most of whom where and probably still are fanatic horse riders, kind enough to bring their animals out to a safe area just before arriving to McLean Mill. The train would stop and a mock train robbery took place. The tourists loved it, and so did the locals, which included me. These images are a collection of all my different train rides in no particular order, but they show you what it was like to be on the train as it moved to the Alberni Valley.
