The Alberni Valley has some of the most spectacular sunsets on Vancouver Island. My favourite location to view sunsets is the Victoria Quay, overlooking the Somass River. Many of my sunset images are from this location. Another great location is the near by Clutesi Haven Marina. Just a tad bit further up the river, the Marina offers a more on obstructed view of sunsets. It is advisable for sightseers to stay at Victoria Quay and walk along the boardwalk, which will lead you to Clutesi. Clutesi Haven is a fishing boat mooring location and parking is often tricky and difficult for sightseerers. Sunsets are a great Landscape Photography in Port Alberni activity for myself and many other local photographers, and tourists alike. You can admire sunsets from many great locations on the Valley. With high elevations you can find great places such as the top of Argyle, the Echo ball fields and other similar locations for sunset viewing. Lower elevations such as the Harbour Quay and Canal Beach also offer smashing views of our famous sunset.
