The Hole in the Wall is a tourist attraction on the edge of the city. As you make your way in to port Alberni this special place is hidden from the road. A short 5 minute walk will take you to the river, surrounded by beautiful douglas fir trees. The hole itself is on the other side of the river, and there's a good chance you can walk across to the other side. It's a man made hole, created for the purpose of installing a pipe line through. The pipeline has long been removed, leaving behind one of the hidden gems of Vancouver Island. Plenty of people swim here and it's been well photographed.
