Alberni District Fall Fair
Lyndon Cassell Photography
The annual Alberni Valley Fall Fair is one of those events I dream about all year as a photographer. There's such a wide range of activities that there is not just something at the fair for all ages, but also for all styles of photographers. From the parade to lights in the evening, sunsets in the background, musical acts, horse shows. lumber jack sports, and exhibitions, it literally becomes a playground for me to shoot and experiment.
Fall Fair Parade
The Annual Fall Fair features the Alberni Valley's best known parade. Every year the fair holds a parade on the Saturday morning of the four day event. While the fair grounds officially open on a Thursday, the parade is traditionally held on Saturday morning.
Rides, games, food! What more could you ask for at a fair. The fairway is what families come for, allowing the kids to check out some very cool rides. There are several adult rides as well, so there is much to enjoy for all family members.
Live Entertainment
The main stage rocks with live music all day and evening during the fair. The musical caliber is always top notch and is well attended.
Logger Sports
Logger Sports are held on Sunday only, there's no better way to end the fair than with cheering on some of the best logger competitors in the world.

Horse Shows
Featuring both English and Western. Port Alberni is surrounded by many ranches and horse shows are a popular activity in the Alberni Valley. This tradition is showcased annually at the fair. The fair grounds is home to stables and a show ring, allowing attendees of the fair to walk through the stables and see a few of these beautiful animals up close.
