Show n Shine 2017

Thunder is the Valley, while not currently in operation, was one of the most fascinating events you could ever wish for. In August of each year for over a decade, race car drivers flocked to Port Alberni for a run and very, very loud weekend of Drag Racing. The event spent years drag racing at the regional district airport. After runway improvements, the drag racing commences operations in city limits on Stamp Avenue. Like most things, the pandemic forced the closure of Thunder In The Valley. As of January 2023 the organizers are still working to secure a new, long term home to bring Thunder In The Valley back!
